Every part that leaves Lime City Manufacturing represents hundreds of decisions made correctly, long before it ever reaches a customer's assembly line. At Lime City Manufacturing, quality isn't a final inspection step. It's designed into the process from the very first conversation about a part.
It Starts Before the First Part Is Ever Stamped
When a new part comes to our team, the questions come first: What does this part need to do? What does it need to withstand? What tolerances actually matter to its function? Those answers shape everything that follows, including material requirements, tooling, and the production process itself.
Our in-house tool room designs and builds dies using CAD/CAM technology, engineering each one specifically for the part it will produce. Depending on the job, that might mean a progressive, compound, single-station, or line die, whichever approach best fits the part's geometry, volume, and tolerance requirements.
Matching the Process to the Part
Quality by design also means matching material to application. We work across a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including cold rolled and alloy steel, high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steel, hot rolled mild steel, coated metals like ZAM® and galvanized steel, aluminum, copper, and brass. Parts can run up to 48 inches in length and from 0.010" to 0.375" in thickness, and our press lines run from 16 to 300 tons with high-speed capabilities up to 300 strokes per minute, giving us the range to stamp everything from delicate small parts to heavy-gauge structural components without compromising accuracy.

Key elements of quality by design at Lime City Manufacturing include:
- Engineered die design: Custom CAD/CAM die design and build matched to each part's geometry and tolerances.
- Material selection: Choosing the right alloy, gauge, and finish for the part's real-world function.
- Process matching: Selecting progressive, compound, single-station, or line dies based on part requirements.
- In-house tool room support: The same team that builds the die stays involved through production and maintenance.
A Certified Foundation

This approach is backed by our ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, a certification Lime City Manufacturing has held since 1999.
It requires that quality be planned for, not just checked for, at every stage of production.
Since 1941, Lime City Manufacturing has brought this same care to every part that comes through our Huntington, Indiana facility, whether it's a short prototype run or a high-volume production contract for automotive, agriculture, appliance, electronics, or medical customers.
